Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
