Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Life
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
