Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.

Thick black smoke was observed billowing over an area close to the central command of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
